A year on the allotment

My year long project with Lisa at Jazzy Rose Flowers, that I finished pretty much a year ago, left a mark. A year of light and weather and growth. Of being outside and watching the world turn.

It pulled me to this, to the rhythm of the seasons and the stories they tell.

James didn’t need convincing. He was all in from the start.

So here we are.

A year on the allotment.

Day one.

October.

Let’s see what unfolds through the months, through his hands, and through my lens.

I met James at first light, the air carrying the quiet of the morning. The allotment sits tucked away in a corner of north London - a small world removed from the buzz of the city. James wastes no time. He moves with purpose, the earth still damp from yesterday’s rain.

I follow close behind, careful not to crush the new shoots fighting their way up. Even in October, the ground is alive. Pumpkins, beetroot, carrots, beans, chillies, and peppers waiting to be pulled from the soil. It’s been a long season here.
